Louise at Terrorizer.com posted some new info on Shrinebuilder.  I am not big Wino fan, but Scott Kelly and Al Cisneros are bad ass!

The artwork (by A Storm of Light’s Josh Graham) and tracklist of Shrinebuilder’s debut album (due out in the autumn on Neurot Recordings) has been revealed.

The “doom supergroup” consisting of Saint Vitus/Obsessed/Spirit Caravan/Hidden Hand guitar hero Scott “Wino” Weinrich, Neurosis/Tribes of Neurot leader Scott Kelly, former Sleep and current Om bassist Al Cisneros, and Melvins drummer Dale Crover are set to tour the US later this year and are planning a tour in Europe next year, but nothing is set in stone yet.

Skateboarding Pioneer, Paul Cullen passed away.  We may not have skating the way it is today if it wasn’t for him and rest of the Zephyr Skate Team.  Many Hales Baby Paul!  Smack is some evil shit.

Skate/punk/hip-hop photographer Glen E. Friedman last night posted the very sad news about the untimely passing of an early skateboard culture icon: Paul “Baby Paul” Cullen is reported to have died of a heroin overdose this week, though his surviving family have not confirmed cause of death. He leaves behind a child. His brother, Brian Cullen, sends word that those who mourn his death are invited to attend a memorial service at Saint Monica’s Catholic Church in Santa Monica, CA, this Saturday at 1030am

I am on board with this, except for the saving humanity part.  We need to die off we are a parasite on the face of the Earth and we have forfeited our right to survive.

Alarmed with the almost daily reporting of rapidly declining tiger numbers and the inaction that follows, school children and several civil society groups in the Indian capital city of New Delhi are coming together to demand the basic right of the tiger–a Right to Survival. And in that, ensuring the survival of the entire human race. The Rally that follows a tiger consultation will also be a shift from all that has been done to all that needs to be done. As an organizer of the rally, comments like these are both inspiring and thought provoking.

This is cool.  Now you can play the new Cheap Trick album, The Late, on 8 Track!

This is an admittedly mad project to see what might have happened if Sony had invented the Walkman earlier than they did – and made it so it took 8 track tape cartridges (which came before cassette tapes were invented).

In other words, can I make a personal 8 track player with just headphones in the style of a Walkman? How small can I make it? Bear in mind it needs quite a bit of power to move the tape loop around inside the cartridge.
